Why are we here?

This morning I woke up and got ready to accompany my mother to the bank. My grandfather recently passed and we needed to switch around accounts and ect. After waiting for about twenty minutes in the banks lobby the assistant branch manager called, "Jennifer," and up we went into her office, just around the corner. We sat down and got right to business. We waited patiently as she checked through the accounts. Just as she started explaining different options on the accounts, her personal cell phone rang. She answered with a calm, "hello?" That was very quickly following with a loud and scarerd, "WHAT!? Are YOU ok!? Are YOU OK!?" After a few phones calls and a weary look on the ladies face she apologized for the interruptions and went on to explain that her sister and niece has just totaled their car. My mom then asked if she could pray with her. They held hands and my mom lifted her situation up to God. The lady then called her boss and wrapped things up with us so she could leave and meet up with the family. Come to find out the meeting for the account wasn't necessary for a few more weeks. My mother and her parted with a long hug and you could see she was very thankful for her support. This situation made me think. Our God is a good God who is abounding in love and He sends His people to help those in need. Today it was my mother being there for a  skilled top manager who in an instant turned into a scared sister. I wish I could say that I was the one who prompted the prayer, I wasn't. But I am thankful for the example I have that taught me a very important lesson. Why were we at the bank? Why are we here? Who do we need to be salt and light to today? Below are a few verses I found when I was pondering this.

2 Corinthians 6:1-6

"1.) As God's partners, we beg you not to reject this marvelous message of God's great kindness. 2.) For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." Indeed, God is ready to help you right now. Today is the day of salvation. 3.) We try to live in such a way that no one will be hindered from finding the Lord by the way we act, and so no one can find fault with our ministry. 4.) In everything we do we try to show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. 5.) We have been beaten, been put in jail, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. 6.) We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and the power of the Holy Spirit."

The next time you go out to do business you're not too excited about take time to stop and pray. Maybe you are suppose to be there for someone who needs to see a friendly face, or needs to her that God loves them.

Welcome!

I have titled this blog "His.grace, you may be wondering why, or possibly just might not care. Well, for the curious ones I will explain. My middle name is Grace, and I use to hate it. I didn't understand what a powerful word grace actually is. Here is one of many definitions of Grace:

"GRACE is that UNMERITED FAVOR OF GOD, whereby in His own SOVEREIGN good pleasure, IT PLEASES THE TRIUNE GOD to MANIFEST HIS OWN GLORY by showing KINDNESS and MERCY to those whom, before the foundation of the world, GOD THE FATHER CHOSE, OR ELECTED!"

Did you read that? We are chosen to be HIS through HIS grace. I am honored to be a child of God and it's not cause I am better it's just because our majestic God has chosen to extended His grace over my life when I do NOT deserve and never could even hope to. I'm am eternally grateful. I hope to use this blog to show examples of His grace in my day to day life, and the lives of people around me. Enjoy! :)
